I’VE been discussing the Salisbury train crash on Talk Radio and it’s very striking how much misinformation there is when covering stories like this. In their frenzy to establish a cause, the media rush to judgement, so often getting things wrong. In this case, it was initially reported that the cause was an object on the track which had been struck by one of the trains. In fact the trains collided – but at the time of writing we don’t know why. When events like this happen, there is n argument for the good old-fashioned transport correspondent, who knows their stuff. Sadly, these are becoming extinct in much of the media these days.
